Michael ASPEL

After a career in television with the BBC, Michael Aspel joined LWT as the main anchor of regional show The 6 O' Clock Show from 1982 to 1988 and was a guest presenter on LWT's Six O'Clock Live in 1990 and 1991. He also presented the LWT networked chat show Aspel & Company from 1984 to 1993 and hosted Thames TV's Give Us A Clue, TVS' Ultra Quiz in 1983 and the BBC TV version of Blockbusters in 1987. He now presents This Is Your Lifeand The Antiques Roadshow. | ![]() |

Danny BAKER

Madcap Danny Baker joined LWT's The London Weekend Show in 1977, and built his part up from roving reporter to roving presenter when the popular Friday evening magazine was relaunched as The Six O' Clock Show a few years later. Baker was often out on assignment with Andy Price, or interviewing with main presenters Michael Aspel and Janet Street Porter in the studio. Later on, he presented for LWT the entertainment show South of Watford and its Sunday football magazine programme, The Game. He currently presents on BBC LDN. |

Frank BOUGH

| The former BBCTV Grandstand and Breakfast Time anchorman joined LWT in the late 1980s to present Six O' Clock Live, the company's flagship news programme introduced as a response to the IBA's concern about its previously poor local news output. This news programme was complemented by LWT News through the rest of the weekend. Frank also did a stint as presenter of TV-am's Good Morning Britain. Frank also worked for Sky News in the early days where he presented The Frank Bough Interview, and also presented the Rugby Union World Cup on ITV in 1991. He presented shows on LBC radio in the mid 1990s. His most recent TV appearance was a guest appearance on Grandstand's 40th anniversary special. |

Lindsay CHARLTON

Anchor of LWT News in the late 1980s, Lindsay went on to work for London News Network as a newsreader, correspondent and relief presenter (1993 to 1995 and 1998/1999) before become managing director of London Weekend Television until recently when he moved to the same role with Meridian Broadcasting. |

He's presented many programmes since then, including, currently, Breakfast With Frost on BBC One. |

Gloria HUNNIFORD

Gloria
Hunniford was a reporter for Ulster Television and BBC Northern Ireland
throughout the 1970s who became one of the main anchors of UTV's Good
Evening Ulster when it launched in 1979. She moved to England in 1982,
and eventually joined LWT where she presented local programmes, including
Sunday, Sunday and national shows, for example, We Love TV.
She also fronted special programmes to celebrate the company's 21st birthday
in 1989, and later specialised in religious and lifestyle programmes.

Nick OWEN

ATV
sports presenter who was the first anchor for Central News in the
East Midlands. He joined TV-am's sports department in 1983, but was soon
promoted to the main presenter of Good Morning Britain when the
'famous five' presenter-owners of the station were culled, or jumped ship,
in a bitter boardroom battle early in the station's tumultuous history.
Nick was soon joined on the couch by former midlands colleague Anne Diamond,
and together the two gelled, helping to transform the fortunes of the
troubled breakfast contractor. The pair later went on to their own daytime
BBC show, Good Morning With Anne and Nick but the programme was
axed after a couple of seasons because it failed to dent the ratings of
ITV's This Morning. After a short spell fronting LWT's 6 O'
Clock Live, Nick is now back in the midlands, anchoring the Birmingham
edition of Midlands Today.

Andy PRICE

Gregarious Westward Television reporter and presenter in the 1960s and 1970s who has made a westcountry comeback with current frachise incumbents, Carlton Television. Andy could often be found on the 'and finally' beat, covering unusual, quirky, amusing and often politically incorrect stories for Westward Diary. For a while, Andy could be seen on our screens 'up country' as one of the roving reporter/presenters for LWT's light-hearted Friday night news magazine programme The Six O' Clock Show. |

Pam then transferred to Tyne Tees Television to co-anchor Northern Life with Paul Frost. She stayed as main co-anchor on the various incarnations of the programme since then, including Tyne Tees Today, Tyne Tees News and, currently, North East Tonight. |

of the 1990s. Scipio has gone on to become an accomplished TV presenter,
including the series Black Britain for BBC Two. Rianna has also
presented the BBC's Watchdog.

Janet STREET PORTER

Best-known
now as confidante of Elton John, the editor of the Independent on Sunday,
founder of the defunct cable channel Live TV, and 'godmother' of 1980s
'yoof' TV. In the late 1970s, Street Porter was one of the main presenters
of LWT's The Weekend Show and, later, The Six O' Clock Show.

Alastair STEWART

Southern TV newsreader and reporter who went on to newscast for ITN, and now, London Tonight on Carlton TV and LWT in London. He also fronts Police, Camera, Action! for ITV. Alastair was offered a job by Southern in 1976 after being interviewed, in his role as a Student Union officer, by anchorman Barry Westwood. Joined ITN as a reporter in 1980 and he was an ITN newscaster, 1982-1992. ITN's Washington correspondent in 1990 and also Presenter of Channel Four's The Parliament Programme. |

Shaw TAYLOR

One
of the first continuity announcers on ATV, Shaw went on to present his
regional crime-busting Police Five slot on London Weekend Television
and ATV for 25 years, and, at other times, on several other ITV regional
stations. As a result he, and his his sign-off catchphrase 'keep 'em peeled',
became well-known nationally.
