The 1990s - LWT's 30th Birthday - August 1998

Long-serving chief announcer Peter Lewis left the station in 1996 to pursue his business interests. For the station's 30th anniversary he was tempted back to commemorate the event. He pre-recorded a series of in-vision links which were played throughout the birthday weekend.

LWT's in-vision studio had gone by then so Peter used GMTV's newsdesk to record the announcements. The weekend also featured several special shows, including Simply The Best which incorporated clips of viewers' favourite shows.
